Philosophy

The essence of apartment living is seen in the independence afforded by staff attitudes and the overall program environment. Incorporation of generic community resources, supports, and activities must be the norm, not the exception. The individual resident must be allowed to explore the possibilities in the community, while staff provide firm but non-intrusive support and guidance. Staff preparation and education and a willingness to access all manner of community resources has been a hallmark of ADEPT apartment programs.
